Unfortunately, this Tuesday will be our last movie night of the 2014 year, but rest assure, Cineclub Italiano will be back again in 2015!
In the meantime, we would like to invite everyone to our final movie screening, Morte a Venezia (Death in Venice) directed by Luchino Visconti, 1971. In this film, the hardworking composer, Gustave Aschenbach, travels to Venice after a period of writers block in hopes of being liberated. While there, he becomes obsessed with a beautiful, adolescent boy named Tadzio. Although Aschenbach never talks to him, he becomes increasingly drawn to this boy. Unfortuently, during Aschednbach’s vacation, he, Tadzio and all the people of Venice, are succumb to the life threatening, cholera plague, adding a twist to the film’s plot.
